Job Title: Indigenous Onboarding Specialist

The Indigenous Onboarding Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new employees from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate onboarding activities, including orientation sessions, training, and preparation of onboarding materials.
  • Provide tailored support to Indigenous new hires, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to integrate into the organisation.
  • Facilitate access to cultural mentoring, community connections, and internal networks.
  • Collect feedback from new hires to assess the effectiveness of the onboarding process and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of onboarding activities and generate reports on onboarding progress and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • A degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Indigenous Studies, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Previous experience in an administrative or coordination role, preferably in HR or onboarding, is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strong organisational abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • A dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.

Working Conditions:

The Indigenous Onboarding Specialist will work in an office environment with occasional site visits. Standard working hours are generally from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but flexibility may be required to accommodate onboarding schedules and activities.
