Indigenous Engagement Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Indigenous Engagement Specialist to join our Engagement and CSR team at SBS. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting key Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders within SBS, including NITV, through ongoing engagement and consultation, implementing the engagement plan in line with the Community Impact Strategy, providing analysis of Indigenous policy matters and advice as necessary, and sourcing research relevant to matters to inform SBS in relation to content, protocol, and operational matters pertaining to First Nations Australians.
About YouWe are looking for a skilled communicator from the Indigenous sector with excellent networks, organisation, and writing skills. You should have a strong understanding of Indigenous communities, cultures, and protocols and an ability to communicate sensitively, respectfully, and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. You should also have demonstrable experience working within the Indigenous sector and/or within Indigenous Community, interpersonal, influencing, and relationship-building skills, including capability to build relationships, trust, and work effectively with external stakeholders and partners at all levels, strong organisational and administrative skills, and strong time management skills. A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role with a strong focus on project management, communications, research, or related area is required.
