The Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced specialist psychiatrist to join their team as a Staff Specialist in Adult Mental Health Services - Rural Consumers.

This permanent full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to provide high-quality clinical and non-clinical services to patients at THHS, including research and teaching of future health professionals.

What's On Offer?

A remuneration package of up to $529,548 p.a., comprising:

  • Salary range: $7,827.20 - $9,924.00 p.f. (L18 - L27)
  • Recreational leave loading (17.5%)
  • Employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%); Attraction and retention incentive allowance; Regional and rural attraction allowance; Motor vehicle allowance; Professional development assistance (allowances and leave); Inaccessibility allowance (if applicable)

The level of appointment will depend on experience and advanced qualifications.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications in Psychiatry, recognised by the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, and current registration with/or eligibility for registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia;
  • Ongoing professional development relevant to the delivery of specialist Mental Health Services to maintain appropriate registration and/or association requirements;
  • Proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association;
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence;
  • All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the service;
  • Pre-employment screening will be conducted;
  • A 6-month probationary period may apply;
  • VPD risk role.
