Salary

The successful candidate will be offered a remuneration package of up to $529,548 p.a., comprising:

  • A salary range of $7827.20 - $9924.00 p.f. (L18 - L27)
  • Recreational leave loading (17.5%); employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%); attraction and retention incentive allowance; regional and rural attraction allowance; motor vehicle allowance; professional development assistance (allowances and leave); and inaccessibility allowance (if applicable).
Job Description

The Senior Mental Health Consultant will provide high-quality clinical services to patients at the Townsville Hospital, focusing on Adult Mental Health Services - Rural Consumers. This includes conducting research and teaching future health professionals.

This role involves working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive mental health care. The consultant will also contribute to policy development, ensuring evidence-based practices are integrated into the service.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • Qualifications in Psychiatry, recognized by the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists;
  • Current registration with/or eligibility for registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia;
  • Ongoing professional development relevant to the delivery of specialist Mental Health Services;
  • Proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association;
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence;
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
