The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mental Health Clinician to lead our North Queensland Suicide Prevention Response Service (NQ SPR). As Clinical Lead, you will provide vital clinical oversight and inspiring leadership to establish and implement a service delivery model that supports consumers accessing North Queensland stepped care services experiencing elevated suicide risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to a team of dedicated mental health clinicians
  • Develop and implement evidence-based risk reduction strategies using safety planning intervention models and the Safeside suicide prevention framework
  • Engage with stakeholders to develop referral pathways and ensure seamless integration with existing services
  • Foster strong relationships with external partners to amplify the impact of your work across the community
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, nursing, or other related clinical disciplines
  • Registration with a relevant professional body such as AHPRA or AASW
  • Advanced skills in clinical risk assessment and evidence-based interventions
  • Expertise in evidence-based suicide prevention frameworks
  • Experience working in cross-cultural settings
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
