Mental Health Specialist for Suicide Prevention

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate mental health professional to join our dynamic team in North Queensland. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality interventions to individuals at risk of suicide.
About the Role- Deliver evidence-based interventions like CBT-SP and DBT, leveraging frameworks such as Safeside, CAMS, and Suicide to HOPE.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective risk management plans.
- Provide timely responses to referrals from local service providers, acting as a care team partner to support both consumers and professionals.
- Foster workforce capacity by upskilling colleagues across the stepped care system in suicide prevention strategies.
- Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships with healthcare providers, hospital services, and other relevant organizations to establish robust referral pathways and integrated services.
- A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing, with relevant professional registration (e.g., AHPRA, AASW).
- Expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health disorders, particularly within suicide prevention frameworks.
- A commitment to fostering inclusive, culturally sensitive care, especially for First Nations People and priority populations.
- Competitive salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
