We are seeking an experienced and compassionate mental health professional to join our dynamic team in North Queensland. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality interventions to individuals at risk of suicide.

About the Role
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions like CBT-SP and DBT, leveraging frameworks such as Safeside, CAMS, and Suicide to HOPE.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective risk management plans.
  • Provide timely responses to referrals from local service providers, acting as a care team partner to support both consumers and professionals.
  • Foster workforce capacity by upskilling colleagues across the stepped care system in suicide prevention strategies.
  • Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships with healthcare providers, hospital services, and other relevant organizations to establish robust referral pathways and integrated services.
Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing, with relevant professional registration (e.g., AHPRA, AASW).
  • Expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health disorders, particularly within suicide prevention frameworks.
  • A commitment to fostering inclusive, culturally sensitive care, especially for First Nations People and priority populations.
