Urban Planning Project Manager Job Opportunity

This is a high-profile job opportunity for an experienced urban planning project manager to lead complex projects and work with key stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver a range of urban planning projects, including strategic planning and statutory applications, with full ownership and accountability.
  • Prepare and review planning reports, submissions, and presentations for key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
  • Provide expert advice and solutions for urban planning matters across various projects.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of planning scheme amendments, development applications, and related documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, government authorities, and the community.
  • Take full responsibility for managing projects from start to finish, including timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, implementing best practice planning solutions.
  • Contribute to the preparation and delivery of strategic planning projects such as land use studies, master planning, and urban renewal strategies.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of planning legal practice and the ability to apply planning laws effectively.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in managing urban planning projects and delivering successful outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on providing sustainable solutions to complex urban planning challenges.
