Infrastructure Planning and Land Services (IPLS) Division provides the PTA with professional expertise and resources in rail planning, engineering, land and environmental management.
About the roles
Are you passionate about city-shaping projects and ready to make your mark on Perth's transport future? We're looking for a driven professional with a background in project management, urban planning, engineering, or a related field and keen to dive into meaningful, high-impact work.
In these roles, your strong analytical and problem-solving skills will help shape strategic transport initiatives and guide the long-term development of Perth's rail network. You'll join a forward-thinking team leading the early design and development of major infrastructure upgrades—transforming ideas into detailed project concepts, costings, and evaluations that support a better, more efficient public transport system for our growing city.
Our ideal candidates will bring solid project management experience in a multidisciplinary environment, along with a proven track record of stakeholder engagement and contract management. You're organised, proactive, and confident in stakeholder engagement—ready to take on new challenges and deliver real-world solutions for the future of public transport in Western Australia.
About You
To excel in these roles, you should possess:
Leadership and management ability, including the capacity to lead, mentor and coach others as well as manage resources effectively.
A tertiary qualification in urban planning, engineering, transport or an approved equivalent; and eligibility for an appropriate Professional Membership.
Relevant technical expertise, including relevant project and/or contract management experience.
Well-developed communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal), with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and to negotiate outcomes and resolve conflicts as needed.
A tertiary qualification in project management, urban planning, engineering, transport or an approved equivalent and eligibility for an appropriate Professional Membership.
Substantial demonstrated project management experience relevant to a multi-disciplinary transport, urban planning or engineering environment, including delivery of outcomes within scope and on time/budget.
Relevant knowledge and experience in contract and consultant management.
Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly through design development and/or a strategic transport infrastructure context.
Well-developed organisational skills including the ability to achieve agreed targets and timelines through the use of effective self-management and teamwork.
