Urban Development Specialist

We are seeking a professional to manage planning projects in the built form and land development spaces. Our client base is diverse, providing opportunities for career growth and well-rounded experience.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in urban planning and be proficient in managing various projects from initial conception through to determination.

  • Manage or assist with planning projects including complex development applications, structure plans, rezoning applications, subdivision applications, due diligence, and coordination of associated sub-consultant inputs and reporting.
  • Independently manage clients, reporting to the Planning Manager and Directors.
  • Presentation of proposals to clients, decision-makers, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Collaborate with planners, project managers, and surveyors to offer support and supervision where needed.

Key qualifications include a tertiary qualification in urban planning or a related field, preferably previous Western Australian private practice or State/Local Government experience.

A solid understanding of Western Australian State and Local Planning Policies and Guidelines is desirable, or an ability to interpret and comprehend new legislation quickly.

Initiative and self-motivation are essential to meet client expectations and grow personally and professionally.

Strong negotiation skills that seek positive outcomes for clients are also required, along with strong people skills to relate to clients and work effectively with other team members.
