Legal Advisor - Product

We are seeking a skilled Legal Advisor to support our product and engineering teams in launching innovative products while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and advise on legal issues in key areas including privacy, data protection, intellectual property, marketing, online safety, AI regulation, and competition laws.
  • Built strong relationships with stakeholders, advising on product development, go-to-market strategy, and risk mitigation.
  • Contribute to the development and operationalization of company-wide AI policies, processes, and legal frameworks.
  • Draft and maintain legal playbooks and internal guidance related to AI tools and technologies.
  • Closely collaborate with privacy, IP, security, regulatory, and engineering teams.
  • Help build scalable and effective processes for legal review to enable the launch of new products.
  • Participate in reviewing and coordinating potential privacy or data security incidents, including investigations, notifications, and resolution efforts.
  • Stay up to date with global AI and privacy regulations and relevant industry standards.
Requirements
  • Legally qualified (AUS/NZ, UK, EU, or US practicing certificate).
  • 3-6 years practicing law with some experience in-house, preferably in a technology company.
  • Familiarity with key digital, privacy, and consumer protection regulations and a desire to learn about new regulations.
  • Comfortable collaborating with team members in other time zones.
  • A collaborative, pragmatic, business-minded lawyer who wants to help grow and be part of an exciting journey.
  • Brings clarity to complexity and simplifies compliance without compromising standards.
  • Loves collaborating with engineers, PMs, and marketers – and thrives in fast-moving environments.
