Job Role

The Australian Energy Market Commission is seeking a Legal Advisor to provide legal and governance services to the organisation.

This role will be responsible for assisting project teams with rule changes and reviews, providing legal advice and perspectives to support decision-making on policy matters, and conducting legal reviews of briefings and decision-making documents.

As a Legal Advisor, you will deliver high-quality legal advice and enjoy working on a wide range of challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist project teams with rule changes and reviews.
  • Provide legal advice and perspectives to support the organisation's decision-making on policy matters.
  • Conduct legal reviews of briefings and decision-making documents.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 1-3 years' post-admission experience.
  • Experience in providing written and oral legal advice in areas such as statutory interpretation, administrative law, climate change policy and regulation, or corporate governance.
  • Strong communication, project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a close team environment.
