About the roleReporting directly to the General Counsel, you will work autonomously to help support the General Counsel in managing a broad portfolio of legal, regulatory, and governance matters.
This role is integral to the firm\'s internal legal operations and risk management requiring a strong understanding of law firm practices, regulatory frameworks and ethical standards.In addition to a competitive market salary, enjoy working in a stunning office location overlooking the Sydney Harbour, market leading paid parental leave, professional development, wellbeing programs, recognition awards, and health insurance discounts.DutiesAs a highly skilled, proactive and trusted legal advisor , your main responsibilities are:-Advise on governance, legal structures, partnerships, and commercial agreements.Manage litigation, employment disputes, FOI requests, and subpoenas.Oversee risk, insurance portfolios, claims handling, and policy renewals.Draft and review contracts, support procurement, and lead tender processes.Lead on compliance, privacy, AML, modern slavery, audits, and legal training.About youTo be successful in this role you will:-Bring circa 4-6 years\' PAE, ideally in a law firm or corporate legal department.
You will have experience in corporate commercial, mergers & acquisitions and/or commercial litigation.Demonstrate expertise in compliance, legal operations, and professional standards.Apply experience across litigation, digital, commercial, and contract law.Utilise strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills to influence outcomes.Showcase attention to detail, tech-savviness, and a commitment to excellence.About our clientEmploying over 700 staff nationally our client is a prominent national law firm that has developed a strong, recognised brand .
