About Our Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Service Counsellor Role

Are you a passionate professional seeking to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals affected by domestic and family violence? We invite you to join our team as a Domestic Family Violence and Sexual Assault Service Counsellor.

This rewarding role involves working with clients who have experienced sexual abuse or domestic and family violence, providing them with high-quality, culturally competent, trauma-informed therapeutic counselling and support services.

  • We serve individuals who have experienced sexual abuse, including children, young people, their non-offending family members, and adults.
  • Our service also provides support and therapeutic services to adults affected by domestic and family violence.
  • Additionally, we offer support and therapeutic services for children under 10 years of age and their families who require assistance with problematic and/or harmful sexualised behaviours.

In this role, you will work closely with clients to provide:

  • Trauma-informed therapeutic counselling and support services that cater to their unique needs.
  • Psychosocial assessments and crisis interventions to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Risk assessment and safety planning to prevent further harm.
  • Advocacy, psychoeducation, and group work to empower clients and promote healthy relationships.

To succeed in this role, you will require a minimum of 3 years relevant clinical experience post-graduation, providing trauma-informed therapeutic support services. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
