Technical Sales Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Consultant to join our team at Canonical. As a Technical Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for helping global companies adopt the latest Linux and open-source applications. Your technical expertise will enable you to advise customers on Ubuntu Pro and relevant open-source solutions, collect business requirements, and deliver presentations and demonstrations to prospective clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect customer business requirements and provide expert advice on Ubuntu Pro and related open-source applications
- Identify customer challenges with open source and articulate how Ubuntu Pro can address these challenges
- Deliver presentations and demonstrations of Ubuntu Pro to prospective clients
- Collaborate with product teams to gather feedback on customer requirements and influence the roadmap
- Work closely with sales teams to achieve common targets
- Travel globally up to 25% of time for internal and external events and client meetings
Requirements:
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
- Undergraduate degree in a technical field or a compelling narrative about your alternative chosen path
- Confidence to respectfully share ideas and feedback without hesitation
- Track record of exceeding expectations to achieve outstanding results
- Demonstrated personal interest in continuous learning and development
- Practical knowledge of Linux, virtualization, containers, and networking
- Business-minded technology thinker and problem solver
- Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and leaders, such as Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP
- Interest in large-scale enterprise open-source, private clouds, machine learning, AI, data analytics
- Intermediate-level Python programming skills
- Passion for technology evident in personal projects and initiatives
- Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
