Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Plant Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in safe work practices
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness at all times and adhere to workshop rules and regulations
  • Collaborate with direct managers, supervisors, and other team members on a daily basis
  • Conduct thorough diagnoses and repairs of faults
  • Service and maintain equipment of plant and truck fleets
  • Work efficiently under tight schedules while maintaining the highest standards
  • Adopt and continue lean practices to ensure quality and cost efficiency in all repairs and maintenance
  • Assist with planning and maintaining service schedules
  • Source parts from suppliers based on quality and best price
  • Maintain company tools and equipment
  • Take ownership of major repairs, working efficiently while maintaining a clean and safe environment
Requirements
  • Fully qualified with at least 2 years' experience as a qualified Plant or Heavy Diesel Mechanic
  • Strong knowledge of drivetrain, brakes, and suspension systems
  • Basic understanding of auto electrical systems
  • Proficient with computers and digital diagnostics
  • Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety
  • Effective communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with a range of individuals
