Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Youth Projects Full time

**A bit about the role**

This is an exciting position in the front line of youth intervention where outstanding motivation and passion will make the most difference. Working with young people aged 12-25, the Youth Outreach Worker will work as part of the YHOP Team undertaking supporting young people to achieve their goals. The worker may also facilitate group programs and provide secondary consultations to other Youth Projects employees in relation to client needs.

YHOP is an outreach program that engages/connects at risk young people to relevant referral pathways to increase engagement, wellbeing and social participation in their community, overcoming barriers.

**Key Requirements**
- Experience in community engagement, outreach and working with young people.
- Minimum Cert IV qualifications in youth work, social work, employment services, community development
- Experience working in AOD, Mental Health and /or Homelessness would be highly desirable.

**A bit about you**

You are an enabler who successfully engages, supports and coaches disengaged young people by providing critical interventions. You hold a qualification in youth work, community services, mental health or other relevant discipline and have experience working with young people (12 - 24) in case management and brief intervention support with a focus on mental health and well-being outcomes. You're passionate about working with at-risk and vulnerable young people and you know your stuff when it comes to guiding and collaborating in a flexible, youth-orientated environment.

You're full of creative ways to meet our service users where they are at and believe that engagement shouldn't be a one size fits all model. You always see the person, not just their immediate situation because you understand that everyone has different needs, and that is okay.

**A bit about us**
