
Mental Health Infant Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled clinician to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will have expertise in perinatal and infant mental health, with experience working with families of infants where parents face severe and complex psychosocial and psychiatric problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level clinical advice and develop education tools or programs to support service excellence.
- Support parents and their infants who are experiencing significant mental health issues through direct patient care and consultation for complex perinatal mental health disorders.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with independent professional judgement; handle novel or complex situations.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
- Advise managers on clinical service development, practice change and service redesign.
Requirements:
- Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with relevant state or national regulations;
- Current full registration with the relevant professional body and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or qualifications in Psychology with a 4-year degree in Psychology, full Psy BA registration, and at least 8 years post-registration experience;
- Extensive postgraduate clinical experience in mental health, with experience working with families of infants where parents face severe and complex psychosocial and psychiatric problems in the perinatal period;
- Knowledge of impact on parenting, parent-infant relationships and infant development.
