Our organization seeks a dedicated Mental Health Clinician to join our team.
Job DescriptionThis role involves working with parents and infants experiencing severe, acute or complex mental health conditions. You will provide senior clinical leadership, direct patient care, and consultation for specialist perinatal and infant mental health support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide senior clinical leadership and direct patient care within the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS), supporting parents and infants with severe, acute, or complex mental health conditions.
- Deliver and coordinate time-limited, intensive perinatal and infant mental health care, including home visiting, clinic appointments, and in-reach as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Engage in consultation with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery and clinical practice improvement.
- Contribute to education, development of tools or programs to support service excellence and clinical practice within the team.
- Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
- Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award; current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or qualifications in Psychology with a recognized four-year degree and full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) with relevant experience; or current Authority to Practice and current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with relevant post-registration experience and qualifications.
- Extensive postgraduate clinical experience in mental health, with experience working with families of infants in the perinatal period facing severe and complex psychosocial and psychiatric issues; knowledge of the impact of mental health on parenting, parent-infant relationships, and infant development.
- Excellent negotiation, decision-making and advocacy skills; ability to engage constructively with a diverse range of stakeholders and provide consultation both within and external to the organisation.
- Ability to provide high-level clinical advice and develop education tools or programs to support service excellence.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, applying advanced reasoning and independent professional judgement to novel, complex, or critical situations.
- Experience leading quality improvement and service evaluation initiatives; ability to advise managers on clinical service development and service redesign.
- Current unrestricted NSW driver's licence and willingness to travel.
