Infant Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team at Kirk Place, Sydney. The successful candidate will provide intensive specialist perinatal and infant mental health support to parents and their infants experiencing significant mental health issues.
Job SummaryThe primary role of this position is to deliver high-quality care through home visiting, clinic appointments, and in-reach activities as part of the multidisciplinary team.
About the RoleThis challenging yet rewarding opportunity involves working with families of infants who require specialist mental health support. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation, decision-making, and advocacy skills to effectively work with the multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care through various means including home visiting and clinic appointments.
- Support the needs of parents and their infants with complex perinatal mental health disorders.
- Develop education tools or programs to enhance service excellence.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team utilizing independent professional judgement.
- Qualifications in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Psychology with relevant post-qualification experience.
- Significant postgraduate clinical experience in mental health, particularly with families of infants.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The successful candidate will work at Kirk Place, Sydney, within the NSW Health network.
