Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our technical support staff, you will be responsible for providing timely and effective resolution of desktop-related issues for our users.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work well under pressure. You will be required to maintain accurate records of faults and resolutions, as well as ensure that all hardware and software installations are implemented in accordance with Service Level targets.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will also be expected to provide excellent customer service, updating users on request status and providing realistic resolution times. Collaborative working is essential in this role, as you will work closely with the team to deliver a professional service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide second-level desktop support to users, ensuring prompt resolution of issues related to installed hardware and software.
  • Maintain accurate log entries of faults with resolution and contact details.
  • Ensure all hardware and software installations and upgrades are implemented according to Service Level and Quality targets.
  • Collaborate with the team to provide a professional service, regularly updating users on request status and providing realistic resolution times.
  • Work on assigned tasks by the Team Leader and participate in ongoing team training.
Technical Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, including:

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving desktop-related issues.
  • Experience with hardware and software installation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard operating systems and applications.
