We are seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to join our team as a Speech Writer. This role will involve working closely with senior leadership to develop high-quality speeches and written content that reflects the organization's values and goals.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and write speeches for senior leadership, including the President, CEO, and other officeholders
  2. Conduct complex research and analysis on topics relevant to the organization's work
  3. Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including members of parliament, judges, and senior legal professionals
  4. Write and edit copy for various publications, including op-eds, press releases, and social media posts
  5. Attend events and functions as required, providing support and coordination for speech delivery
  6. Collaborate with the Content and Communications Manager and Director, Media and Public Relations to develop strategic communications plans
  7. Undertake research on specific issues to ensure information is accurate and up-to-date

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in researching, analysing, and coordinating information
  • Proven ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content for various audiences
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • High level of computer literacy using Microsoft Office and website publication tools

What We Offer

A competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience
