We use a tech stack including Swift/Kotlin/C++ (mobile); React.js (front end); Go/node.js (back end); AWS/Kafka/Kubernetes (infrastructure). As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be empowered to manage complex architectural decisions and drive change, owning the delivery of practical solutions to solve real-world problems for customers.

The role involves exciting technical challenges as we scale, and being an integral part of the engineering team. High-performing teams own their services, and you're trusted to build and run a system that serves hundreds of thousands of users while transforming it into a system that will serve millions of users in the near future.

As an expert in relevant technologies, you'll have influence over the direction of the team and function. You'll also improve others' ability to deliver great work and drive initiatives focused on release-safety, repeatability, and improving the way we do things.

The essential skills required include:

  • Deep knowledge of a back-end coding language (preferably Golang) and related frameworks.
  • Ability to own the delivery of complex features, break down requirements, and provide estimates.
  • Experience with complex authorization systems, particularly at scale.
  • Proven experience in managing and executing system migrations.

The desirable skills include:

  • Authorization Knowledge: Familiarity with Google's Zanzibar paper, and authorization at scale.
  • SaaS/Cloud Services: Experience in building and running SaaS or cloud services at scale.
  • Architectural Knowledge: Experience with service-oriented/microservice architectures.
  • Database Experience: Working with key/value stores (e.g., DynamoDB) and relational databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL).
  • Leadership: Experience working in a technical leadership capacity.
  • User-Centric Vision: A user-centric vision, even in a platform-facing role, is a plus.
