We are seeking an experienced and passionate Aboriginal Cultural Safety Project Officer to join our team and contribute to our journey of improving the experience and health outcomes for our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Aboriginal Cultural Safety plans and activities that promote cultural awareness and understanding among our staff, volunteers, and community members.
  • Engage with our local community to hear their thoughts, ideas, and concerns, and to build trust and rapport with key stakeholders.
  • Design and deliver innovative and creative programs that promote cultural safety and address the unique needs of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
  • Provide education and training to our staff, volunteers, and community members on Aboriginal cultural safety, cultural awareness, and reconciliation.

Requirements:

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity and a strong understanding of Aboriginal cultural safety principles and practices.
  • Experience in community engagement and program development, with a focus on Aboriginal cultural safety and community development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including community members, staff, and volunteers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and partnership.
