The Role:

We are seeking a motivated, full-time HR and Safety Officer to work closely with our Compliance Manager. This role offers a dynamic mix of safety and HR responsibilities, providing you with an excellent opportunity to contribute to both compliance and employee success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding & HR Support: Lead the onboarding process for new staff, ensuring a smooth transition into the company. Assist employees with HR-related inquiries and safety matters.
  • Training & Development: Monitor training programs and ensure all staff maintain compliance with safety qualifications and certifications.
  • Safety Audits & Inspections: Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure that safety standards are consistently met across all projects.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain and update compliance records according to Akron Group NT's management systems and legislative requirements.
  • Safety Procedures: Prepare and review Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for both routine and ad-hoc projects.
  • Incident Investigations: Support incident investigations and perform risk assessments to promote safe and compliant working environments.

Requirements:

  • The right to live and work in Australia without sponsorship.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE).
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Preferred experience in construction/trade or similar environments.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and exceptional attention to detail.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
