About the Role

This position is responsible for intake referrals, conducting comprehensive assessments, and responding to immediate needs for Aboriginal clients seeking support through the Orange Door Hub. The Hub is a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, safe, and effective responses to Aboriginal women, children, men, and families seeking support and safety.

This role will provide short-term support and refer clients to agencies for further support where identified as a need. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Family Violence and Child Protection sectors, with experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children.

About You
  • A degree in social work or equivalent, or significant lived experience relevant to the work.
  • Minimum two years' experience in the Family Violence sector.
  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding of the values that underpin VACCA's vision and purpose.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Family Violence and Child Protection sectors, with experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with intake processes and comprehensive assessments to determine client needs and formulate interventions.
  • Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination, a Working with Children's Check, and a Victorian Driver Licence.
