About the Role

The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Case Manager to join our team. As a Senior Case Manager, you will be responsible for holding a mixed caseload of children authorized to VACCA, as well as leading investigations into new child protection reports.

You will make assessments and recommendations if a child is in need of protection, and work directly with children, families, and community to ensure the child's safety and wellbeing.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Team Leader, supporting the team and taking on higher duties as delegated by the Team Leader and senior program staff.

About You
  • You have a demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA's vision and purpose.
  • You hold a recognized Social Work/Community Services degree or a similar welfare or behavioral related degree, which includes focus on child development/counseling or case work practice.
  • You have experience working in the child, youth, and family sectors, and are able to effectively communicate and negotiate with Aboriginal children and families.
  • You have a proven ability to undertake complex work with children and families who have experienced trauma and may present with challenging behaviors, using culturally safe therapeutic approaches to heal and build resilience.
  • You have an understanding of the legislation, policy, and practice requirements relating to Aboriginal children, families, and communities.
