Job Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified and caring Learning Support Officer to join our team. This is an ongoing position, working 5 days a week during school terms and staff professional development weeks. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and contribute to the success of our school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, promoting their academic and social development;
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective learning plans;
  • Assist with classroom activities and provide additional support to students as needed;
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures related to student support.
Requirements
  • Hold a Certificate III or IV or Diploma in School Based Education Support;
  • Have previous experience working in schools, preferably in a support role;
  • Be able to obtain a Queensland Positive Notice Working with Children Blue Card;
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Be able to sign and abide by the College's Statement of Faith;
  • Be able to abide by the Staff Code of Conduct at all times;
  • Be able to work with all members of the College community;
  • Align with the values, virtues, and Christian beliefs of St George Christian School;
  • Have legal permission to work in Australia.
