Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Strategic Indigenous Careers Leader to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled individual who can provide strategic advice and leadership in the planning, delivery and evaluation of career development programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong focus on building strategic relationships and driving engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including industry, community organisations and program delivery partners. You will also be responsible for providing tailored advice on career planning and pathways to students throughout their lifecycle, including those studying online and within Community programs.

You will work closely with OIERE leadership to support the delivery of RMIT's Indigenous Strategic Commitments and achieve graduate employment outcomes outlined in Knowledge with Action: RMIT's Strategy to 2031.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage career development programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students;
  • Build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including industry and community organisations;
  • Provide tailored advice on career planning and pathways to students;
  • Capture and analyse data to effectively provide insights, reporting and recommendations;
  • Collaborate with OIERE leadership to achieve graduate employment outcomes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A highly developed understanding of the systemic barriers and challenges experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities regarding education and employment;
  • Knowledge of the labour market and education sectors;
  • Ability to develop and manage career development programs;
  • High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop, manage and maintain strategic relationships;
  • Ability to capture and analyse data to effectively provide insights, reporting and recommendations;
  • A team collaborative manner and ability to work autonomously;
  • Relevant work experience within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $112,068 per annum, plus superannuation.
