Job Overview

This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality employee relations management services. The successful candidate will possess strong research, analytical, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct research and analysis of employee relations matters.
  2. Participate in consultations and negotiations with key stakeholders, departmental work units, professional associations, and other public sector agencies.
  3. Provide support for advocacy services in tribunals, including the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.
  4. Develop and implement new and revised processes, policies, and procedures relevant to employee relations matters.
  5. Draft correspondence, briefing notes, and advice on employee relations matters.
  6. Maintain effective networks and liaise with clients, officers from other agencies, unions, and external bodies to promote and monitor contemporary employee relations issues.

Requirements:

  1. Knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in delivery of contemporary employee relations matters.
  2. Sound research, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, including meeting tight deadlines.
  3. Ability to contribute to employee relations focused projects and operate effectively as a team member.
  4. Well-developed written and oral communication skills, negotiation, and consultative skills.
