We provide entertainment, gaming, and leisure experiences in a safe, responsible, and ethical manner, embedding our values with a focus on safer gambling and good business practices.Our properties across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and Sydney feature award-winning hotels, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues.As an Employee Relations Specialist in our Legal team, reporting to the Senior Manager Employee Relations, you will manage high-risk and complex cases end-to-end, providing expert advice and guidance to ensure efficient and professional resolution of matters.This diverse role includes advocacy, enterprise agreement bargaining, workplace investigations, whistleblower matters, and project work.This is a permanent full-time position offering hybrid working arrangements, based in Sydney, Brisbane, or Gold Coast.Responsibilities include:Managing high-risk, complex cases from start to finish.Representing The Star Entertainment Group in the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals or regulatory bodies.Conducting confidential workplace investigations and supporting leaders with grievances and disciplinary matters.Providing specialist advice on policies, procedures, industrial instruments, and employment risks.Ensuring policies and processes comply with legislative obligations through SME advice on projects.Contributing to enterprise agreement bargaining and engaging with external stakeholders, including unions.Qualifications and experience:Proven experience in employee relations within a fast-paced, complex environment, with strong case management and investigation skills.Experience in advocacy and enterprise agreement negotiations.Excellent knowledge of current workplace legislation, awards, and regulations.Ability to handle sensitive information professionally.Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.Employment law experience is highly regarded.About you:You are an expert in managing complex employee relations cases, capable of working independently and collaborating with senior leaders to resolve diverse ER/IR issues.Join us to make a difference.What we offer:Complimentary daily meals on site, including hot meals and sandwiches.Flexible working arrangements.30% discounts at restaurants and on accommodation.Leisure discounts, including gym memberships and dry cleaning.Mental health and wellbeing services.Focus on diversity and inclusion, including multicultural, gender, Indigenous, and LGBTQI+ initiatives.Opportunities for career growth and development.Eligibility checks are part of the recruitment and employment process.Our culture:All team members are expected to embody The Star's Purpose, Values, and Principles, which underpin our culture.Our purpose: creating fun at trusted destinations.
