About the Role

The Principal Product Lead will provide technology leadership to the Trading and Portfolio business units, focusing on Trading systems build & run. This role represents a desire for greater partnership between business and technology, particularly in the complex Energy Trading environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish a Trading and Portfolio technology vision and roadmap aligned with the business strategy
  • Guide the delivery of the Trading and Portfolio technology strategic plan, including capital programs and operational performance management of over 20 specialized IT systems
  • Act as an enabler and agent of change as AGL transitions its generation portfolio and capitalizes on investments in trading systems
  • Drive technology outcomes by partnering across technology and business functions to achieve overall BU outcomes
  • Ensure the most appropriate tools, processes, and ways of working are utilized and used appropriately
  • Evolving and improving the team's capability, culture, and engagement
  • Developing talent, nurturing, coaching, and promoting individuals to maximize their potential
About You

You will have a strong background in Australian energy markets and a detailed understanding of trading, trading analytics, trading risk, or trading finance. Advanced interpersonal skills, ability to build strong relationships, and ability to implement meaningful changes will set you up for success.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT, commercial, or similar discipline
  • Detailed understanding of Australian and international energy markets and emerging challenges with new renewable and storage assets
  • Ability to comprehend complex systems, their interdependencies, and limitations
  • Ability to optimize the use of complex data across trade lifecycles
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
  • Experience developing and implementing change and communication strategies and materials for a diverse audience
  • Extensive experience in a product management or leadership role
