Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our joint venture project team based at Dingley, VIC. As part of our joint venture partnership with Abergeldie and KBR (ABK), we have been appointed as one of two Integrated Capital Works Planning and Delivery Partners for South East Water's major capital projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with the pre-contracts team to evaluate and estimate civil earthworks and mechanical pipeline tenders for South East Water projects and other exciting projects in the pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce first principle estimates for direct costs and site overhead costs on tenders for the joint venture project.
  • Mentor and train Graduate Engineers to assist with estimating tasks, including quantity take-offs and subcontractor quotations.
  • Review tender documents for scope of works, contract requirements, and alternative design options.
  • Assess risks and opportunities in the construction of the project, identifying a winning edge.
  • Oversee and/or prepare construction programs.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven estimating experience in civil earthworks and mechanical pipeline projects, including water renewals and sewer rehabilitations.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and develop construction methodologies and programs.
  • Willingness to maintain/develop associations with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors within the water infrastructure space.
  • Previous experience with Pronamics Expert Estimation (Genesis) software is advantageous.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously or as part of an agile team environment.
  • Great attention to detail and clear communication.
