About the Role

As a Contracts Administrator, you'll work on the Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2 Project. Your responsibilities will include undertaking prequalification, preparing tenders, letting of contracts, and providing contract administration services to manage the commercial and legal aspects of the contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft scopes of works and tender packages for requests for quotations/invitation to tender issued to prequalified companies.
  • Interpret specifications and drawings to understand the scope of works for the project.
  • Conduct prequalification of interested companies relating to prospective work packages.
  • Manage the review process to ensure the award of all work packages within the required time frame and budget.
  • Minimise subcontractor variation claims and elimination of claims where possible.
  • Ensure cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and cost codes are accurately maintained.
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure Code compliance is always maintained.

Requirements

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce, or equivalent.
  • Relevant commercial administration experience in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or associated disciplines.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Commerce, Accounting, Business, Construction, Property, Quantity Surveying, Law, or other associated disciplines.
  • Demonstrated relevant experience working as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor in the construction and engineering industry.

Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. The Beveridge to Albury project is part of this initiative, enhancing the northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury.
