About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paralegal and Administration Manager to join our Legal Services team at the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Legal Services Section, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Support the section's lawyers in providing a broad range of in-house legal services, including property and commercial transactions, native title advice, and dispute resolution.
  • Manage the engagement, briefing, and supervision of external legal services providers, including counsel.
  • Develop and implement innovations to improve systems, processes, and reporting to enable the section to deliver a high level of service to clients and stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage the efficient running of section administration, including managing priorities and deadlines, developing procedure documents, and providing guidance and training to team members.
Requirements
  • Australian citizenship at the time of applying for the position.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
  • High level skills and experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Previous experience as a paralegal or in a legal environment.
  • Legal qualifications or working towards obtaining legal qualifications.
