Strategic Workplace Relations and Performance Specialist

Classification: Parliamentary Service Level 6
This role is part of the Corporate Operations Branch, within the Legal and Conduct Section. You will be working under the Assistant Director, Workplace Relations, Performance and Conduct.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and prepare advice on employment issues, complex workplace relations matters, relevant legislation, and agreements for review by senior staff.
- Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of strategies to improve departmental outcomes in managing complex sensitive people matters, staff engagement, and workplace consultation.
- Represent the department in dealings with unions and other stakeholders, preparing materials to assist with representation at tribunals and external jurisdictions.
- Support the research, development, management, and implementation of enterprise agreements, HR Policies, and employment contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and processes.
- Develop and maintain productive stakeholder relationships, assisting senior staff to liaise and negotiate with key stakeholders, including senior management, industrial organisations, and external agencies.
- Prepare written material, including executive briefs, corporate documentation, findings of fact, and formal communications relating to employee conduct and performance.
Requirements and Qualifications
You will have experience in one or more of the team's responsible HR areas: workplace relations, performance, or conduct. A tertiary qualification in human resource management or law is desirable but not required.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
