At Optus, we're driving innovation and growth in the satellite industry. We're seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead our Defence and Commonwealth satellite business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to drive new business opportunities within the Defence and Commonwealth satellite portfolio.
  • Proactively manage and expand existing contractual obligations from a sales and account management perspective.
  • Collaborate with operational Defence leads to ensure seamless execution of sales and account management activities.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with Defence and Commonwealth stakeholders to drive business growth.
  • Prepare and ensure accurate forecasts, pipelines, and budgets are available.
  • Identify and recommend areas for profitable and sustainable growth within the portfolio.
Requirements
  • Extensive years of industry sales and/or business development experience.
  • Experience working with Defence or on Defence accounts/BDM.
  • Experience in relationship/strategic selling, preferably in satellite or space environments.
  • Sound commercial and business acumen with experience in positioning value propositions to customers.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales growth through acquisition strategies and business development sales and customer loyalty through strong relationships.
  • A high level of general business acumen with the ability to communicate effectively at CTO, CIO, CFO, and CEO levels.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen (PR's unable to apply).
  • Already possesses NV1 or higher security classification or ability to obtain.
