Workplace Health and Safety Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain current Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards to prevent injuries and incidents.
- Support the WHS Manager in implementing, managing, and producing effective WHS and Injury Management programs across the hospital.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards, root causes, and preventative actions.
- Facilitate and document Health and Safety Rep meetings.
- Implement positive workplace culture by promoting behavioral safety practices among staff.
- Educate and train employees on essential safety protocols to ensure they are motivated and equipped.
- Develop and implement WHS policies and provide injury management support to all hospital employees.
- Hold a professional certification in WHS or RTW - Cert IV or equivalent.
- Have a deep understanding of NSW WHS legislation requirements.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an allied health environment.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and communication skills with a friendly and assertive demeanor.
- Able to achieve targets and work collaboratively as part of a team to create a safe working environment.
