Workplace Safety Specialist

Part-time Opportunity

We are seeking a Workplace Safety Specialist to prioritize the safety and wellbeing of our employees and projects across the business. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory, and licensing requirements, overseeing and developing our safety systems alongside HR functions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the company's current WHS status and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Audit and update our integrated management system to ensure alignment with industry best practices.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims and personal injury claims in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, documenting, reporting, and implementing return-to-work programs as necessary.
  • Support the team in preparing site folders and paperwork to maintain a safe, compliant, and up-to-date work environment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HR-related matters and manage the hiring, onboarding process, reviews, and employee engagement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Possession of Cert IV qualification in Work Health and Safety or higher.
  • Relevant experience in the construction industry, particularly in civil construction.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A collaborative and friendly approach to working with colleagues at all levels.
