About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our team at Ventora. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring our company adheres to all relevant regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Compliance Frameworks: Design, implement, and maintain a robust compliance framework to ensure our company's adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and Ensure Adherence to Mandatory Reporting: Oversee and ensure that all mandatory reporting requirements are met, including contract management and supplier due diligence.
  • Conduct Thorough Due Diligence on Potential Suppliers: Conduct thorough research and analysis on potential suppliers to ensure they meet our company's standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and Mitigate Potential Compliance Risks: Identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring our company's continued compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain Up-to-Date Knowledge of Relevant Regulations: Stay up-to-date with the latest regulatory requirements and industry standards, ensuring our company remains compliant.
  • Collaborate with Procurement Team: Work closely with the procurement team to ensure all purchases comply with established standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Training Sessions: Develop and deliver training sessions for internal stakeholders on procurement compliance procedures, ensuring everyone is aware of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Maintain and Update Template Agreements: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain, update, and roll out template agreements, ensuring consistency and compliance.
  • Liaise with Senior Leadership Team and External Law Firms: Communicate with the Senior Leadership Team and external law firms regarding corporate secretarial matters, ensuring our company's compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Review, Draft, and Develop Legal Documents: Review, draft, and develop non-complex legal documents, such as non-disclosure agreements, and communicate with stakeholders as required.
  • Assist with Management of Legal Issues: Assist with the management of legal issues on a day-to-day basis, under the direction of the Chief Legal Officer.
About You
  • Minimum 3+ Years of Experience: You must have a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a compliance-related role, with a strong understanding of Australian compliance regulations and best practices.
  • Strong Understanding of ILPA, Modern Slavery, FSC Certification, and Climate-Related Financial Disclosures: You must have a strong understanding of ILPA, Modern Slavery, FSC Certification, and climate-related financial disclosures, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a compliance context.
  • Prior In-House Paralegal and Compliance Experience: Prior experience as an in-house paralegal and compliance specialist is highly desirable.
  • Tertiary Qualification in Law: A tertiary qualification in law is preferred, but not essential.
  • Relevant Knowledge of Legal Principles and Sound Legal Advisory Skills: You must have relevant knowledge of legal principles and sound legal advisory skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills: You must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
