We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team at Michael Page Australia. As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for processing payroll for 1000 employees across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring timely payments and compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll for 1000 employees across Australia and New Zealand, meeting deadlines and ensuring accuracy
- Create and maintain staff personnel files, ensuring up-to-date information
- Calculate termination benefits and leave entitlements, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
- Balance payroll ledger accounts, ensuring accurate financial records
- Prepare payroll and budget reports, providing insights for business decision-making
- Ensure timely ATO and superannuation payments, maintaining a high level of compliance
- Interpret awards and agreements, providing guidance on HR administration
- Manage end-of-year payroll processing and STP payment summaries, ensuring seamless execution
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a Payroll Officer, with a strong understanding of Australian awards and payroll legislation
- Experience using Oracle and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Understanding of TIPT/QMS systems highly desirable but not required
