About the Role

This position plays a key role in providing advice and technical expertise in the creation, planning and delivery of council-led events, including civic receptions, ceremonies and special events. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across the organization to champion the company's purpose and deliver the Corporate Plan in consultation with the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise in event and project management, including concept development, negotiating contracts, risk management, marketing, and budgeting.
  • Work with community-based organizations, event organizers and promoters, and government agencies to plan and deliver events.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including event planning and delivery.
  • Develop and implement event concepts, including marketing and promotional strategies.
  • Manage event budgets and ensure financial sustainability.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in event and project management, including concept development, negotiating contracts, risk management, marketing, and budgeting.
  • High level coordination and time management skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an event planning and delivery role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
