Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Supervisor to join our Engineering Services team at QinetiQ. As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our Maker Space facilities, ensuring the smooth delivery of projects and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the maintenance of facilities, including equipment, consumables, and health and safety management.
  • Coordinate client inductions, technical training, and safety system administration.
  • Manage equipment and consumable inventory, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Support local innovation activities and events, and assist in the development of site-specific SOPs.
  • Collect and report facility and equipment usage data.
  • Assist users in developing creative problem-solving skills through technical guidance and support.
  • Consult with users to identify project support requirements, and work with the user and Makerspace support network to develop a technical support plan.
  • Set up and run makerspace operational processes to deliver on unit innovation and experimentation goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of technical trades experience in Electronics, IT, Electrical, Fitter machinist, or Mechanical, or minimum 2 years of engineering experience in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a similar discipline.
  • Experience working on design and prototyping unique solutions or low-rate production runs.
  • Experience with laser CNC, 3D printing, PCB printing, VR/AR development, software programmable kits, smart applications, and general prototyping.
  • Ability to coach and mentor users to achieve project requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the operation of fabrication machines and associated software.
  • Ability to research and select off-the-shelf software solutions to make timely project recommendations.
  • Australian Defence security clearance eligibility.
