About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child and Family Support Specialist to join our dynamic team at Mission Australia. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing tailored psychological services to children aged 3-12 years, offering face-to-face counselling, conducting thorough assessments, and leading engaging group programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a range of therapeutic modalities appropriate to children, including individual and group sessions
  • Develop and implement psycho-social education programs for parents and caregivers to support child mental health intervention
  • Conduct initial risk assessments of families and children, and develop comprehensive treatment plans
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless service delivery and optimal outcomes for children and families
  • Collect and analyze client data to inform program development and evaluation
Requirements
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) as a Provisional Psychologist working towards full registration, or equivalent qualifications and experience
  • Strong therapeutic skills and experience working with children and families
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development
