Role Overview

Our Family Preservation Program works closely with families who are expecting a child or have children under 18 years old, aiming to strengthen familial bonds to ensure children can safely remain at home, free from harm and neglect, while receiving the best possible start in life. Our services are voluntary and target families at high risk of entering or escalating within the statutory child protection system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regular in-home support services to engage and assist families.
  • Conduct initial assessments to identify family strengths and needs, and develop case plans that enhance resilience and foster positive relationships.
  • Implement evidence-based practices while collaborating with other services to help families navigate their next steps.
  • Customize support using a strengths-based approach to align with the unique needs of each family.

Qualifications and Experience

As a qualified Social Worker, Psychologist, Case Worker, or Case Manager, you will possess:

  • A relevant degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience in case management within the Child Protection sector.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A holistic, strengths-based approach to facilitating lasting change.
  • The ability to engage with diverse individuals, including the local Aboriginal community.
  • A high level of motivation, professional integrity, and a belief in the potential of every parent.
