About the Role

The Benevolent Society is seeking a skilled Family Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing family therapy and child protection intervention services to high-risk clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work intensively with families to assess strengths, needs, and goals, and develop and monitor case plans to improve family functioning and increase child safety.
  • Use a whole-of-family approach to provide therapy and intervention services, focusing on assessment, intervention, and case management.
  • Engage and motivate families to participate in the change process, decreasing conflict and blame, and increasing hope for change.
  • Coordinate and link families to community treatment services, including counseling, education, and youth-targeted services.
Requirements
  • Minimum tertiary qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Psychology, Counselling, or related discipline.
  • At least 2 years' experience working in complex trauma and child protection.
  • Ability to actively engage, assess, and case manage at-risk families using a strengths-based approach.
  • Clear understanding of child protection issues and capacity to identify and respond to escalated risk.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data collection.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and experience engaging with reluctant clients.
