About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Suicide Prevention Peer Coordinator to join our team at Wellways Australia Limited.

About the Program

The TRISP (Targeted Regional Initiatives for Suicide Prevention) program aims to deliver a peer-led prevention model that is trauma-informed, non-clinical, and outreach-based.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Build community support for distress by expanding referrals and sharing resources.
  2. Promote education and training to integrate and strengthen responses to distress and suicidality.
  3. Utilize community engagement principles and shared resources to support people in distress.

Requirements

  1. Lived experience of suicidality or suicide bereavement.
  2. Ability to remain calm in a crisis situation.
  3. Knowledge of suicide prevention, mental health, and other social service sectors.
  4. Experience with data collection and reporting, including ethical handling of data.
