Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Officer to join our team at the Tasmanian Government. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing HR support and services to our employees, including rostering, payroll, recruitment, and general administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rostering and Payroll Management
    • Coordinate and monitor rostering undertaken by all system users and ensure all users are fully trained and comply with rostering guidelines.
    • Process fortnightly payroll, maintain accurate records, and resolve payroll discrepancies where required.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding
    • Support the recruitment process, including advertising, shortlisting, and interviewing candidates.
    • Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing and distributing necessary documentation.
  • HR Administration
    • Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining accurate records.
    • Develop and update clear process guidelines for a variety of users.
  • Employee Support
    • Provide advice, support, and individual or group training on HR systems and processes.
    • Actively monitor all HR Inboxes and action and/or refer requests to other team members in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in human resources or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide support to colleagues.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
