Sous Chef

About the Role:

This leadership opportunity exists for a Sous Chef to oversee operations in our banqueting facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and hold current Food Safety Certification. Additionally, 5 years' experience working as a chef in hotel or restaurant environments with at least 2 years supervisory experience is required.

  • Daily Operations: Deliver consistent quality food preparation, flavour, and presentation across all outlets and service styles. Lead daily operations across banquet facilities with capacity to cater to over 500 people.
  • Menu Creation: Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create menus that reflect seasonal ingredients, current trends, and customer preferences. Develop special event menus to enhance the dining experience.
  • Teamwork: Communicate effectively across departments to ensure seamless teamwork without negatively impacting the guest experience.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery is essential.
  • Understanding of food standards is necessary.
  • Mandatory certifications include Food Safety Certificate and First Aid.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working as a chef in either hotel or restaurant environments with at least 2 years supervisory experience in kitchen operations.
  • Holds a current food safety certification.
