Job Description

As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for driving the growth, innovation, and commercial execution of each category within our purchasing team. Your key responsibilities will include identifying commercial opportunities for category expansion, engaging with suppliers, managing stakeholders, and ensuring the efficient logistics and supply chain management.

  • Identify and develop new product opportunities to expand our customer offering.
  • Engage with suppliers to source high-quality products and negotiate the best possible trading terms and prices.
  • Manage and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ensure the most efficient logistics, warehousing, and shipping options are chosen for each product.
  • Maximise profitability through a deep understanding of your category and the market.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be required to drive and control promotional strategy and price changes across different sales channels, contribute to pricing reviews, ensure timely sourcing and purchase of products, and manage inventory levels to achieve company goals and KPIs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in a relevant field such as Commerce, Business, or Entrepreneurship.
  • Proven experience as a Category Manager, preferably within an eCommerce, Retail, or FCMG environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick and impactful decisions.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, being agile, flexible, and adaptable.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other IT tools, with the ability to use data analysis to drive business outcomes.
