The Category Manager role is a pivotal position within our organisation, requiring an individual with strategic and commercial acumen to drive sales and margin improvement through data-led strategies.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced category leader who will be responsible for the end-to-end management of category performance through strategic planning, supplier engagement, and cross-functional execution. Key responsibilities include:

  • Development and Execution of Strategic Category Plans: The successful candidate will create and implement annual category plans that align with business objectives, driving sales, profitability, and innovation.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: This includes optimising trading terms, promotional support, and innovation with suppliers.
  • Range and Space Management: Effective management of product ranges and store space to drive market share and sales.
  • Budget Delivery: The Category Manager will be responsible for delivering category budgets for sales, gross profit percentage, and shrinkage, supported by regular data analysis and actionable reporting.
  • New Store Openings: Seamless execution of new store openings, including accurate ranging, promotional stock planning, and supplier engagement.

In addition, the Category Manager will be responsible for maintaining compliance across merchandising standards, pricing reviews, and promotional programs. A passion for customer insight, store-level relevance, and category innovation is essential to position our organisation as a market leader.

About You

We are looking for an experienced professional with:

  • Proven Experience in Category Management, preferably within retail or FMCG environments.
  • Strong Commercial Acumen and the ability to drive sales and margin improvement through data-led strategies.
  • Demonstrated Success in Supplier Negotiations, promotional planning, and range optimisation.
  • Excellent Stakeholder Management Skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Interpreting Category Data and generating actionable insights.

A proactive, curious, and innovative mindset, with experience working with planograms, ranging tools, or category systems is highly desirable.
